Structured Literacy and The Code focuses on both how our students are taught: explicitly, systematically and cumulatively; and what they are taught: Phonemic Awareness (Sounds), Orthography (the spelling system), Morphology (how words are formed), Vocabulary, Syntax and Grammar.  Combined, giving our students the skills they need to read, spell and write with confidence.

Many of our teaching staff have attended Structured Literacy and The Code Professional Development with Liz Kane and continue to upskill themselves using the iDeal Platform and keeping abreast of new research.
